Single-board computer

Traditional computers which requires multiple attachments to a motherboard in order to function. However, unlike traditional computers, single-board computer is a complete computer which has most of its hardware components soldered on a single circuit board.

Such hardware components include microprocessor, GPU, RAM, eMMC connector, SD card slot, HDMI port, USB ports, GPIO ports, CSI camera connector, DSI display port, Bluetooth chipset and WiFi chipset.

Single-board computers were initially built for demonstration systems and educational purposes. As technology advances, single board computers get more powerful while maintaining a small form factor. As such, they had became a popular choice for IoT projects.
